Amelia Earhart (1897–1937) gives her thanks to the men who got her flying again after her August 31, 1928 crash landing at Rodgers Field (located where the Yorkshire Drive development off of Powers Run Road is today). Former Field Club Road resident, Regis Willwohl (1908–1999) is the second mechanic to the right of Earhart. This photo was first published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, September 3, 1928.
